Issues and criticism faced by Salt Bae

When you become successful and growing, there are always some to put you down, and you become the center of criticism. Like that, despite the success, Salt Bae also faced some issues in his career.

In December 2017, Salt Bae was being criticized for a 2016 photo in which he was seen posing in front of a portrait of Fidel Castro of Cuba, which he posted on his Instagram.

Fidel Castro was a late notorious Cuban revolutionary, lawyer, and politician who served as the country’s leader from 1959 to 2008, serving as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and President from 1976 to 2008.

However, he took down the Instagram post later.

Called as Weirdo

In September 2018, Marco Rubio and the Miami City Council criticized Gökçe after Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro dined at Gökçe’s Istanbul restaurant in, with Rubio labeling Gökçe, a “weirdo.”

Get accused by employees.

In November 2019, four former employees of Gökçe accused him of taking a cut of their tips. They claimed that they were fired when they asked inquiries about the tips at his New York restaurant. Until Gökçe negotiated a settlement with his former employees and paid them $230,000, a trial was scheduled to probe the matter. “I was not satisfied with the performance of the four employees,” he stated, explaining why he fired them. Since being dismissed, they’ve acted as if to say, “Look what we’re going to do to you,” and have made these tip allegations.
